“As a hand, wrist, and elbow specialist I am dedicated to a personalized approach to patient care. I have extensive experience in primary as well as revision surgical procedures. My scope of practice includes all disorders of the hand, wrist, and elbow from simple to complex. I aim to provide every patient with the time and attention they deserve while delivering the most innovative and minimally invasive approach to your care. “

Experience
As of 2022 Dr. Julka has performed well over 5000 procedures on the hand, wrist and elbow. He spent 3 years as faculty and Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at University of Wisconsin Hospitals followed by 4 years as faculty and Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. During his time he has authored numerous book chapters, papers, over 20 peer reviewed innovative surgical technique videos and given educational talks on a local, regional and national level. He continues to be engaged in research, innovation in surgical techniques, and educating surgeons on a national level.
Education
Dr. Julka obtained a Bachelor of Science in Medical microbiology and immunology from the University of Wisconsin. He then went on to receive his Medical Doctorate from Ohio State University Medical School in 2004 graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then completed a rigorous 5 year Orthopedic Surgery residency at University of Michigan Hospitals. Dr. Julka later completed his Hand, Wrist and Elbow Surgery fellowship at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic. During his training he spent 4 months training in Hand, Wrist and Elbow trauma surgery at one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in the nation, Metro Hospital.
Community Engagement
Dr. Julka has been an educator and mentor for numerous Orthopedic surgery residents and hand surgery fellows.
Dr. Julka has been passionate about medical missions providing care to under served communities and countries. He has had the honor being the lead hand surgeon on mission trips to the Dominican Republic and is excited about planning the next trip.
